He is the owner and operator of Tunnbrottet gård, a historic mountain farm in Nord-Østerdalen, Norway, which also serves as an ideal base for international film and photography productions.
Surrounded by some of Norway’s most spectacular mountain and wilderness areas, Tunnbrottet is strategically located within reach of Forollhogna, Rondane, Femundsmarka and Dovrefjell. The farm provides production teams with a practical and authentic base close to the landscapes, wildlife and communities that form the backdrop for their stories.
A long-standing collaboration with Vincent Munier
One of the defining relationships in Tomas’ professional career began almost twenty years ago.
In 2006, Tomas was involved in the Rewilding Europe photographic project led by photographer Staffan Widstrand. During this period, he hosted Vincent Munier and Laurent Joffrion during their work in Forollhogna National Park.
What began as a professional meeting became the foundation for a long-lasting collaboration and close friendship. Their work together over the years has resulted in photographs, books, videos and films, documenting the landscapes and wildlife of Norway and Scandinavia.
Tomas subsequently worked with Munier and Joffrion on several major productions, including Nordic Variations and Scandinavia – The Call of the North, providing global logistics and wildlife guiding.
International film productions
For Les Saisons, directed by Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud, Tomas worked as global logistics and wildlife guide, supporting the production in the field.
For Vincent Munier’s Le Chant des Forêts, Tomas was responsible for logistics and fieldwork for the Norwegian part of the production.
The film represents a continuation of a collaboration that began with Munier’s first visit to Forollhogna nearly two decades earlier.
From the field to the story
Tomas’ strength lies in combining professional production experience with deep local knowledge.
He understands the practical realities of working in remote Norwegian landscapes: weather, terrain, wildlife behaviour, access, transportation, accommodation, local communities, timing and logistics.
Just as importantly, he understands the creative ambitions of photographers and filmmakers. His role is to bridge the gap between the production team and the Norwegian landscape – finding the right places, people and opportunities while ensuring that the practical details work in the field.
Tunnbrottet gård – a base for productions
Located in the mountain landscape of Nord-Østerdalen, Tunnbrottet gård offers an authentic Norwegian base for visiting photographers, filmmakers and production teams.
The farm combines accommodation, workspace, local knowledge and direct access to a remarkable natural environment. From Tunnbrottet, productions can reach several of Norway’s most important mountain and wilderness areas, including:

The farm also provides a natural meeting point with local communities, farmers, guides and other people who can contribute to authentic stories from rural Norway.
For international productions, Tunnbrottet can function not simply as accommodation, but as a production base and gateway to the Norwegian landscape.

Tomas’ field experience also extends into international editorial work.
A recent feature produced in collaboration with the French nature magazine Terre Sauvage, focusing on Fåset oppvekstsenter, has now been published in the latest issue.
The story reflects another important part of Tomas’ work: connecting international journalists and photographers with authentic Norwegian people, communities and places.

Tomas will introduce Le Chant des Forêts before its pre-premiere at the Tynset International Film Festival in September 2026.
